  • "Why 9 days?"
The protocol length of 9 days is intentionally designed to ensure optimal adjustment, cleansing, rebuilding, and healing of the body. Let's delve into the details of why this duration is chosen, and explore the various phases of this process. During the first 3 days of the protocol, the primary focus is on allowing the body to acclimate to the cleanse. This period helps initiate the release of the food that resides in the intestine, preparing the body for the upcoming detoxification. It serves as a transitional phase, preparing the body for the deeper cleansing to follow. Moving on to the next 3 days, the emphasis shifts towards cleansing the deeper regions of the intestine. This phase targets the removal of old bodily waste that has accumulated in the deeper layers, as well as clearing the gunk adhered to the outer walls of the intestine. By doing so, the detoxification process is initiated, effectively eliminating harmful substances from the body. The final 3 days of the protocol are focused on lighter cleansing of the heavy gunk and a continuation of the deep cleansing process. Additionally, this phase involves rebuilding and rejuvenating the body, as the elimination of waste creates space for the restoration of healthy tissues and systems. With most of the waste already expelled from the body, this period allows for a more concentrated effort on deep cleansing and facilitating the restoration of the body's functions. Throughout the 9-day process, several key milestones are reached. After day 3, the immune system begins to reset, promoting overall immune health. By day 5, many individuals will enter a state of ketosis, where the body starts using stored fat for energy. Day 7 marks the start of the resetting and rebuilding of the gut microbiome, which plays a crucial role in digestion and overall well-being. Finally, by day 9, the body's metabolism is adjusted and corrected, enabling it to function at its optimal pace. The duration of 9 days allows for a comprehensive acclimation, detoxification, and rebuilding process. It provides sufficient time to address various aspects of cleansing and rejuvenation, ensuring a thorough and effective reset of the body's systems. It's important to note that while fasting protocols can have potential benefits, such as promoting weight loss, improving insulin sensitivity, and reducing inflammation, it's always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before embarking on any dietary changes or fasting regimen. Individual needs and medical conditions may vary, and professional guidance can help ensure the safety and effectiveness of the fasting protocol.
  • "I am feeling a little bit constipated, is that normal?"
Yes, this can be normal with a gut cleanse. The biggest thing to consider... Are you drinking lots of water throughout the day besides after drinking the shake? Staying hydrated is key in helping things flow. Physical movement is also very important, gentle walks and stretching really help the intestine flow and system stay regulated. In the first few days of a cleanse, you might feel a bit backed up, and that's normal. This happens because your body is used to getting food which starts the digestion process. When you eat, your brain tells your colon to get ready for a bowel movement. Without food coming in, these signals aren't sent as often, making you feel constipated. It takes a few days for your body to get used to this change and understand it still needs to tell the colon to release, even without new food coming in. The number of bowel movements can vary greatly between people. It's normal to have just one bowel movement a day, but it's also normal for some to have up to six. This depends on many factors like your diet and physical activity. If you're on the cleanse and your intestines are already clear, you might not have as many bowel movements as you'd expect. If you’re feeling really constipated and or just want to get things flowing more, a cup of "smooth move" tea in the morning and evening will help you right away! If you experience severe constipation please call your health care provider immediately.
  • "Why apple juice, its too much sugar, can I do orange juice instead?"
There are many specific reasons on why apple juice, Firstly, it's important to understand that not all sugars are the same, and each type of sugar is processed differently in the body. When consuming sugars, especially fruit sugars, the presence of fiber plays a significant role. Fiber has a crucial relationship with sugar, as it helps slow down the sugar processing by aiding in its absorption. This means that a higher intake of fiber allows for better handling of sugar. Both psyllium husk and apple pectin, which are included in our shakes, are rich in fiber, including both soluble and insoluble fibers. This fiber content helps regulate the natural fruit sugars present in apple juice, ensuring a slow and steady release of sugar into the bloodstream. As a result, even individuals with diabetes may be able to consume the sugar from apple juice without experiencing potentially detrimental blood sugar spikes, although individual responses may vary. The use of apple juice as the base for our shakes goes beyond its sugar content. Apple juice offers various health benefits that align with the goals of our gut cleanse. One significant advantage is its potential to aid the colon. The consumption of apple juice can assist in releasing and cleansing built-up waste and toxins stored deep within the intestines. This cleansing effect is attributed to the presence of potent digestive enzymes in apple juice, as well as an enzyme that helps soften the tissues surrounding the organs. By supporting the digestive process and promoting detoxification, apple juice contributes to a gentle and effective cleanse. Furthermore, when combined with the other ingredients in our shakes, apple juice serves as a preparation for a potential gallbladder flush at the end of the cleanse, should individuals choose to pursue a deeper level of cleansing. The complementary nature of the ingredients in the shakes and apple juice enhances the overall effectiveness of the cleanse. To maximize the health benefits, it is advisable to source organic apple juice. Cold-pressed apple juice is considered the best option, as it retains more of the nutrients and enzymes present in fresh apples. If possible, juicing your own apples provides an even greater advantage in terms of health benefits. Apple juice offers several health benefits that can support your well-being: Digestive Health: Apple juice contains dietary fiber, including soluble and insoluble fibers. These fibers promote regular bowel movements, prevent constipation, and contribute to digestive health. Hydration Support: With its high water content, apple juice helps keep you properly hydrated. Optimal hydration aids digestion and facilitates the transportation of nutrients throughout your body. Antioxidant Richness: Apples are abundant in antioxidants, such as flavonoids and polyphenols. These compounds offer numerous health benefits, including reducing inflammation, protecting against oxidative stress, and supporting gut health. Prebiotic Properties: Certain fiber types in apple juice act as prebiotics, which nourish and promote the growth of beneficial gut bacteria. Maintaining a healthy balance of gut bacteria is crucial for digestion and overall well-being. Essential Nutrients: Apple juice contains various vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C and potassium. These nutrients are vital for supporting overall health and contribute to a well-functioning digestive system. Detoxification Support: Apple juice is often associated with detoxification due to its high water content and antioxidant properties. While the body has its own detoxification mechanisms, staying hydrated and consuming antioxidant-rich foods like apple juice can support these natural processes. You do not want to do orange juice or any kind of citrus at all, including lemon in your drinking water. This is because you’re already breaking down your microbiome during the cleanse in order to rebuild it and with the acidity added from the citrus that will break it down even further into larger chunks that you don’t want. This will hurt your stomach and cause discomfort and your body can and will most likely react with auto immune effects such as hives, breakouts, nausea etc. however your body typically expresses it. Steering clear of citrus is very important.
  • "I am bloated and having stomach discomfort, is this normal?"
Yes, bloating and some stomach discomfort is normal. The level of bloating and stomach discomfort will be different for everyone. Bloating is happening for a few reasons. Psyllium husk is a type of fiber that can cause bloating and discomfort in some people due to its ability to absorb large amounts of water. It is important to drink plenty of water while taking psyllium husk in order to avoid these symptoms to allow it to move through and help flush out the toxins. Secondly your gut is also expanding, contracting, clearing and adjusting shape to find its original happy place, while taking its new form you can be bloated and feel discomfort during the process. This is all normal and means its working! If you experience any severe pain and issues please call your health care provider immediately.
  • "Can I take my usual supplements while on the cleanse?"
Yes, you can take your usual supplements during the cleanse. I recommend starting to take your supplements after Day 3 to let your body get acclimated to the cleanse. Then add your supplements and just make sure to always listen to your body if they become too much during the cleanse.

In most cases you will see results from the first time you do it. For best upkeep and long lasting outcome this cleanse is recommended every 3 months for 1 year. Then once a year or however frequent is best for maintaining your own gut health.
  • "Why do I need to drink water right after the shake too?"
Drinking water directly after consuming the cleanse shake which is a psyllium husk-based shake is crucial for several reasons. When you consume psyllium husk, it has a remarkable ability to absorb water and expand in size. This expansion is essential for the proper functioning of psyllium husk within your body. However, if you do not provide enough water or liquid along with it, the psyllium husk can start to expand prematurely, even in the incorrect location. To illustrate this, consider what happens when psyllium husk is left in a jar of shake for a minute or two. You will observe that it starts to turn fluffy and gel-like due to its interaction with the liquid. Similarly, if you consume psyllium husk without sufficient water, it can swell and form a gel-like substance in your throat or esophagus, leading to discomfort and potentially obstructing its intended path. By drinking water immediately after consuming the psyllium husk shake, you ensure that the product is pushed down fully, allowing it to settle and expand in the correct place within your digestive system. The water acts as a carrier, flushing the psyllium husk into its proper location, where it can perform its intended functions effectively. Moreover, consuming water after psyllium husk intake is essential for maintaining proper hydration, especially during fasting. When you fast, adequate hydration becomes even more crucial for your body's overall well-being. Water supports numerous physiological processes, including digestion, absorption of nutrients, transportation of waste, and regulation of body temperature. Failing to drink water immediately after consuming psyllium husk can result in two significant discomforts. Firstly, the product may not be fully washed down, causing a sensation of incomplete ingestion and potentially leaving it trapped in an undesirable location. Secondly, without proper hydration, your body may experience discomfort and dehydration-related issues, which can negatively impact your fasting journey. In summary, drinking water directly after consuming a psyllium husk-based shake is vital. It ensures that the product settles and expands in the appropriate location within your body, preventing discomfort and obstruction. Additionally, it supports proper hydration, which is essential for your body's optimal functioning, particularly during fasting.
  • "Im having some gas, is this normal?"
There are many possibilities on why one would have gas. The cleanse experience is unique to each individual based on many things: body type, diet, health, composition etc. Experiencing gas during the cleanse may result from an abrupt increase in fiber intake, as high-fiber components like psyllium husk can initially upset the digestive system if you're not used to a high fiber diet, leading to potential gas and bloating while your gut microbiome adjusts. This reaction is more pronounced for those not accustomed to a high-fiber diet or who previously consumed many processed foods. Staying very hydrated throughout the cleanse is very important and if not properly staying hydrated it can help cause some discomfort, bloating, gas. As soon as you finish the cleanse especially on your first time doing the cleanse, typically your body doesn’t immediately go back to “normal” as it’s still adjusting and finding its rhythm after the reset. So having some gas still as you just finish the cleanse is very normal, it’ll can take a week of food integration to get into a good routine with your upgrades.
  • "Can I cleanse if I am sick?"
Cleansing while sick is different for everyone. Typically when one is sick naturally we do not eat, this is because intuitively we need to allow the body and all systems to rest fully to heal and cleanse naturally with the sickness instead of eating and having the body do more work on digesting and processing food than healing the sickness. My thoughts on cleansing while super sick are that while battling the flu, a cold, infections etc. cleansing deeply might not be ideal for everyone and may also be the help some people need. With the protocol of the cleanse itself of restricting food and just consuming the cleanse shakes/liquids it may be potentially challenging for your body already under the stress of illness, depending on how drastic, to do the cleanse. While on the other hand the cleanse is here to help your overall gut health benefits and after day 3 of not ingesting food the immune system fully resets. Typically the cleanse will help you process and page your sickness. It’s hard to say if your sickness could benefit from the cleanse as all illness and bodies are different. I personally do cleanse when I’m sick to eliminate anything in my system naturally, especially if it hasn’t gone away on its own after a couple days. As always ask your primary care doctor before cleansing especially when sick.
